​Dean Thomson

​Dean is the Executive Officer at NAGA .

​Dean is an Environmental and Climate Change specialist with more than 20 years of professional experience.

Dean has worked extensively on international climate change mitigation programs at World Vision Australia and NatureCo, which included managing carbon mitigation projects certified to the Clean Development Mechanism and other voluntary carbon standards. Dean is also Chair of the Gold Standard Land Use and Forestry Technical Advisory Committee, a leading certification body for carbon credits.

Previously Dean was a consultant for GHD and Net Balance, where he advised organisations on the development of carbon footprints, carbon and energy management plans and mitigation options. Prior to working as a consultant, Dean worked in the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Team at the Department of Climate Change supporting the production of Australia’s National Greenhouse Gas Inventory for official submission to the UNFCCC and the development of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting legislation.

Steve Turnock

​Steve is the Project Manager at NAGA.

Steve has 10 years experience in the climate change, community and local government space.

This includes three years at Colac Otway Shire Council working on corporate emissions reduction and leading the early work on forming the Barwon South West Climate Alliance, and previously working with LGAs and communities at Moreland Energy Foundation and Brotherhood of St Laurence.

Most recently, Steve was the Program Manager for the Barwon South West Community Power Hub, working closely with community groups and other stakeholders across the region to deliver feasibility studies and implement renewable energy projects via a Community Energy Revolving Fund.
